<p>You may even end up feeling so frustrated that you give up on your dream of becoming slim and healthy. But it doesn&#8217;t have to be that way.</p>
<p>In order to have rapid weight loss success, you have to find the best diet for you (a.k.a. the diet that will speed you towards your dream body at lightning pace). There are millions of diets &#8211; but only a few that are best for you and your lifestyle.</p>
<p>The best diet for you will have the 3 key features listed below. Choose your diet with these 3 key features in mind and you&#8217;re already halfway to your weight loss dreams.</p>

<p>Are there before and after pictures of people who have lost weight with that particular diet? Are there customer testimonials? Have there been independent studies done on the diet&#8217;s success rate?</p>
<p>The diet you choose doesn&#8217;t have to have all three of these but try to find at least some kind of proven success rate before choosing that particular program.</p>
<p>Finding a diet with a proven success rate not only lets you know that the diet works but it also helps give you the confidence that the diet will work FOR YOU.</p>
<p>Confidence is one of the most underrated factors in a successful weight loss program. If you&#8217;ve tried and failed with diets before you especially need that extra boost of confidence to carry you through the more difficult times in the diet. By reminding yourself that this diet has been proven to work &#8211; you&#8217;ll be able to keep going and reach your weight loss goals.</p>
<p>A related feature that gets extra points is if the diet has been recommended by an expert or a physician. Again this boosts your confidence that the diet is safe and effective.</p>

<p>A close friend of mine went to a well-known weight loss clinic in our area and was told she had to pay the yearly fees up front (around $1000 NOT including food). They also told her she had to buy their food in bulk (like $500 for a year&#8217;s worth of chocolate).</p>
<p>When the chocolate gave her heart palpitations and she had to take it back, they told her it was non-refundable. She was out the money for the chocolate. Plus, she feels she can&#8217;t leave the program because she&#8217;s paid the yearly fees (which, you guessed it, are also non-refundable).</p>
<p>She unfortunately made the mistake of ignoring her instincts and paying way too much money for a diet program. If you notice you&#8217;re being asked for hefty fees right out of the gate, warning lights should be flashing in your mind.</p>
<p>Now on the other hand, the best diet WILL cost you something. It actually is better if you put some cash on the table for your diet program. Why? Because when we invest in something we&#8217;re more likely to stick with it. When we invest in something we are more likely to follow through and get the results we want.</p>
<p>For example I did a liver detox several months ago. I&#8217;m not really into liver detoxing but I read an article and figured I&#8217;d try it.</p>
<p>The detox kit cost me a whopping $50 and when I opened the instructions they told me I had to give up junk food for two weeks. In any other universe I would have laughed and simply forgotten about detoxing my liver. But because I&#8217;d shelled out $50, I was invested &#8211; I decided that I hopefully wouldn&#8217;t starve from lack of junk food over two weeks and suffered through it.</p>
<p>If I&#8217;d gotten the detox kit for free there&#8217;s no way I would have followed those instructions. But because I was invested, I followed through and now have a healthier liver thanking me for it.</p>
<p>So when searching for the best diet, putting out some money on yourself and your dreams of a better body is actually a healthy thing. Just keep in mind that you shouldn&#8217;t have to spend thousands of dollars on it.</p>
<p>#3 Compatible with Your Tastes and Lifestyle</p>
<p>This is THE most crucial step however it&#8217;s the one where most people go wrong. When choosing a diet, they simply pick one and go, without considering if it is compatible with their tastes and lifestyle.</p>
<p>For example, if you hate feeling deprived or empty you might want to choose a program that lets you eat many times during the day so you don&#8217;t feel hungry. If you get bored easily you want a diet program that gives you tremendous variety and flexibility. If you don&#8217;t do a lot of cooking or food preparation, you&#8217;ll want to look at a program where the food is pre-made for you.</p>
<p>Diets are like cars &#8211; there are hundreds of different models out there, each with their own unique features. And they can get you where you want to go. But your personality might gel better with certain features than others.</p>

Located about 4 miles from the downtown area of Palm Beach, this resort is situated directly on the beach in the quiet area of town. Bella Vita Retreat’s most sought after package is their Beach Boot Camp. Guests wake up to the sound of the ocean waves and are soon recruited for the morning power walk and boot camp session. The schedule is filled with yoga, nutrition classes, personal training, stress reduction and massage treatments. There are also options to get additional private yoga and personal training sessions if guests are interested. All staff members are extremely knowledgeable and often stay afterwards to answer questions for guests.</p>
<p>The food is great, but very healthy. You won’t find fries and burgers on the Bella Vita Retreat menu and the price doesn’t include alcohol. There is a restaurant on the premises and a very nice outdoor/indoor beach bar. They have a full menu although if you’re trying to lose weight, you should stick to the regimen provided by Bella Vita Retreat. You’ll have plenty to eat and drink. The retreat is also close to the downtown area of Palm Beach (about 4 miles). It’s a short cab ride to shopping and sight seeing. Though it is nice to get out and about, the retreat offers a wonderful atmosphere and live entertainment in the evening. There is a full time concierge available to set up any additional excursions, but the retreat also offers snorkeling, parasailing, surfing, windsurfing, kayaking and more. The beach chair service is also a plus with padded beach lounges and an attendant to get drinks, etc.<br />

This isn’t any typical boot camp as the property has been recently renovated and offers plush linens and towels, very nice bedding and pillows, valet parking and beach chair/umbrella service. You have lifetime access to the personal trainers and nutritionists to call or email them with questions about health and fitness. Bella Vita Retreat is a step above the rest.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Remember when you weighed over 300 pounds and you literally felt “stuffed” into your clothes?  Zippered pants and tailored shirts just weren’t your “style”, or closer to the truth, you couldn’t find any zippered pants that fit you well or shirts that didn’t peep open of pop buttons!  Elastic became your closest buddy!  Do you recall how self-conscience you were to not bend over for fear of busting out your seat?  Or how about the way your large thighs would rub so much against the inside seam of your pants, you were glad that nobody could see that you had splitting material in between your legs?</p>
<p>Those are awful and painful memories of what life was like before your gastric bypass weight-loss surgery!  It almost feels as if those memories are a whole lifetime behind you now, doesn’t it?  And for those who have had the surgery and are still working toward their goal weight, those memories aren’t far enough away yet.</p>
<p>Many gastric bypass patients, as they slim down, do not know how to wear smaller-size clothing.  They find the freedoms of loose-fitting garments to be refreshing, less binding, and more relaxing.  They often adore this newly-found delight and are happy with the way their clothing “hangs” on them instead of wraps tightly around their body.</p>
<p>These same patients who wear the loose clothing often have issues with thinking they have not lost enough weight.  They will say things like, “the scale shows I’ve lost weight, but when I see myself in the mirror, I still look so large.”</p>
<p>For those patients who are feeling that way, I want to make a suggestion that just might be the simplest fix; I’ve dubbed this to be my “Getting Rid of the Baggies” campaign.</p>
<p>And I don’t mean sandwich baggies either!</p>
<p>Losing weight so quickly is an adventure, to say the least.  We go through a lot of size changes every few weeks.  I recall when I was losing, I was going to the thrift stores every three weeks to buy more clothing to fit me until the next drop in size came.  Not very expensive when they are “used” items.  It was something I had to do!</p>
<p>Some patients have no clue that they are trapped in their baggies until someone points that out to them.  This should be done in the kindest of ways, or in the manner that suits your friendship.  If you truly are friends with someone who is trapped in the baggies, then you can be blunt and to the point by saying, “Get out of those baggies!”  Others may require a gentler tone if you are to remain friends.</p>
<p>What if nobody is telling you that you’re trapped in the baggies?  Does that mean you’re not?</p>
<p>NO.  It probably means that they are too afraid to tell you at risk of hurting your feelings.</p>
<p>This is where I jump in… I’m going to give you some clues right now as to how to judge whether or not you are still wearing baggy clothes unnecessarily.</p>
<p>You know you’re trapped in the baggies when:</p>
<p>You’ve lost 50 pounds and you haven’t put on the next smaller clothing size.  Fifty pounds is a LOT, and it SHOWS!</p>
<p>The shoulder seams are nearing closer to your elbows.</p>
<p>Your shirts or sweaters fit you like short dresses.</p>
<p>You can grab a huge fistful of material and still not be touching your body.</p>
<p>Your shirt or dresses fit you like oversized maternity wear.</p>
<p>Your shirts have leftover “stretch bumps” stuck in them where you don’t have bumps like that anymore.</p>
<p>Your feet shift back and forth inside your shoes when you walk.</p>
<p>Your pantyhose can be pulled up to almost your armpits.</p>
<p>You become tangled as you walk because your pant legs get knotted up in between your legs.</p>
<p>Your half slip falls right off of you and unto the floor.<br />

Your tank tops have become slings for the…<br />
Your sleeves flap in the wind like sails.</p>
<p>Your turtlenecks are now tortoise-necks that don’t’ even touch your neck.</p>
<p>Your rings are falling off.  Put them AWAY until you can get them resized… I’ve seen the tears of people who’ve lost their rings!</p>
<p>Your socks stretch above the knees.</p>
<p>The rump of your pants sag low and appear to be harboring pockets of air.</p>
<p>Getting the idea now?  If you are guilty of any one of these baggie symptoms, I strongly urge you to go to your nearest store and buy a smaller size!</p>
<p>I can promise you, that if you get out of the baggies, you will feel so much better about yourself, you weight-loss achievements, and begin to appreciate in a deeper sense what the surgery has done for you.  It’s time to stop beating yourself up with unfounded criticism.</p>
<p>This certainly WAS a rough lesson on you, wasn’t it?  Well, at least you have a clue now and you didn’t have to get mad at a friend telling you!  And if one day your fiend DOES tell you that you’re trapped in the baggies, tell them “thank you” and mean it by  wearing clothes that flatter you.</p>
<p>And for the FRIENDS who need to drop the bomb on someone trapped in the baggies…. if you’re too shy to tell them to their face, mail them this article!</p>

I have had a lot of problems with my weight over the years and by the age of twenty-two had had enough of being obese. In the article I write about how I eventually lost my excess pounds.</p>
<p>I have always struggled to keep my weight under control. Being over-weight affected my whole life, I was unable to wear the clothes I wanted to and I often felt guilty after eating certain foods. I was adamant that if only I could lose a couple of stones my confidence would increase and that I would ultimately be a lot happier.</p>
<p>I read many books and attempted to follow a range of diets. For whatever reason this did not seem to help me, mainly because I could not stick to their weight loss programs due to my love of fatty foods.</p>
<p>One day I was talking to a neighbour who was not only very nice but also quite thin. She looked very fit and healthy and I enquired as to how she kept so trim.<br />
<span id="more-1330"></span><br />
This neighbour who is called Gillian seemed quite taken aback and even flattered by my question and went quite coy. She stated that at one point in her life, she had also had a weight problem and had not been happy about it. What she was about to say was quite a shock to me, however would eventually change my life.</p>
<p>She went on to say that wherever she went to at this stage of her life, she would travel to by car. Gillian had realised that in an average week, she did very little exercise and at times did none at all. She then went out and bought a dog and would take this pet for a walk at least twice a day. This was not a choir for Gillian and over the next few years even resulted in her meeting a number of new friends. Previously, Gillian had seen exercise as a hassle and very time consuming but on various days she would take her dog on four walks, she enjoyed it that much.</p>
<p>Gillian quickly noticed that not only was she losing weight but that she also felt a lot healthier. It was not long before she was at a weight she was happy with.</p>
<p>After listening to Gillian&#8217;s story I decided to follow her weight loss program. Yes I went and bought a dog and am happy to report that it has also worked for me.</p>

<p>When you are at home, always try to keep some fresh fruit on hand. If you are hit with a craving, fruit is a better choice than cake or chips. Also, make a fat-free dip and cut up some fresh veggies like carrots and celery and keep them in the fridge. This will give you another quick and healthy snack that you can just grab and eat during a craving.</p>
<p>Never go to a party, a meeting, or any event where there will be food available on an empty stomach. This will set you right up to over eat when you get there. Always eat a small meal or at least eat a good, healthy snack before you go as this will help to stop cravings from hitting you while there.</p>
<p>If there are certain snack foods that you really enjoy, don’t try to completely cut them out. You will only overindulge in them when you can’t control the urge to have them later. Plan these snacks into your day, and just make them snacks that you have once in a while and in moderate amounts when you do.</p>
<p>Remember that just because certain food items are fat-free does not mean they are calorie free. When turning to fat free snacks, be careful of how many calories they contain and adjust your portions accordingly. It is very easy to assume fat-free is “safe” and go way overboard on them.</p>
<p>The next time you are hit with cravings, remember these little guidelines and you will be able to deal with them without ruining your efforts to maintain healthy eating habits.</p>
